leo's childhood was complicated. while his mothers had a lot of love for their little family, they did not have a lot of love for being parents. he remembered extravagant birthdays and holidays, even spontaneous whirlwind trips, but when he needed his mothers the most, they were simply not around. instead, what he did remember was family meals with his best friend, molly's, family. celebrating good news and seeking comfort on bad days. for all intents and purposes, molly's family was his family too.
everything changed when molly's dad died. his mothers made an effort to be around more, asked questions about his hopes and dreams, truly tried their best to learn who leo was and what he valued. unfortunately, their best lasted about eight months before they left him largely in the care of molly and her mom again.
if the two people who were supposed to care about him only cared enough to go through the motions of support, he would seek it elsewhere. leo turned to external sources for validation, often conflating attraction and interest with love and safety. he fell in love with dressing up, putting on clothes that turned him into a different person. even on the worst of days, a well fitting jacket and some carefully chosen jewellery could put him in the mood to go out.
it only made sense, then, to accept his invitation to strixhaven. it felt right, like finally carving his own path with molly by his side.

the tips of leo's ears taper to an obvious point, though they are otherwise almost human-like and not particularly elongated. his eyes are a dark hazel that give off the illusion of darkening when he's upset. in his shifted form, he is very fluffy and sports a large v-shaped cream patch on his chest.
